Fake Adobe Spam Alert

I've reported on several vulnerabilities and patches for Adobe products over the last few months. Now spammers are trying to take advantage of all the security issues found in some Adobe products, particularly the Adobe Reader.

A few days ago Adobe released Reader X version that contains a "sandbox" feature built in to provide some additional protection from malicious PDFs. Now the spammers are sending out emails trying to entice people into clicking a link to suspicious websites by advertising a new version of the Adobe Reader.

So far we haven't seen of these emails getting through our filters, but in case any do or if anyone reads it from their quarantine folders, it is highly recommended not to click on these links and just delete them. You definitely should not install any software from any of these sites.

To update your Adobe products legitimately, go to the Adobe website directly and http://www.adobe.com.
