Outlook Express Setup

Back to Email Client Setups

  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Go to the Tools Menu.
  • Select the Accounts option.
  • Click the mail tab.
  • Click the add button and choose mail.
  • You will then be presented with the following wizard.

Outlook Express will now need to gather your account information in order to setup your email account correctly. First it will ask you for a Display Name. This can be anything you like. Type it in as you would like to appear and click Next.

Enter your email address in the E-Mail Address field, and then click Next.

Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Type mail.yourdomain.com for both Incoming POP3 server and Outgoing SMTP server and then click Next.

On this screen you will enter your username or email address in the Account Name field. Then type your password in the password field. You may check mark the remember password box if you would like Outlook Express to remember the password. Now you can click Next.

Once you have completed entering all the information you will then click the Finish button.

Click on the account added.

Click on Properties

Click on the Servers tab

Checkmark the box "My server requires authentication"

Click Apply

Click the Advanced tab

For the Outgoing mail (SMTP) change the port number from 25 to 587

Click OK

Close the accounts window and Outlook Express is now setup. You can start using your email account.
