Windows Mail Setup

Back to Email Client Setups

  • Open Windows Mail.
  • Go to the Tools Menu.
  • Select the Accounts option.

Click the Add button

Choose Email Account and click Next

First it will ask you for a Display Name. This can be anything you like. Type it in as you would like to appear and click Next.

Enter your email address in the E-Mail Address field, and then click Next.

Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Type mail.yourdomain.com for both Incoming POP3 server and Outgoing SMTP server. Check the box that says Outgoing server requires authentication and then click Next.

On this screen you will enter your username or email address in the Account Name field. Then type your password in the password field. You may check mark the remember password box if you would like Windows Mail to remember the password. Now you can click Next.

Once you have completed entering all the information you will then select if you want to download emails at this time and then click the Finish button.

Click on the account added.

Click on Properties

Click the Advanced tab

For the Outgoing mail (SMTP) change the port number from 25 to 587, click Apply and then Click OK

Close the accounts window and Windows Mail is now setup. You can start using your email account.
