Publishing With FrontPage

You must use the Microsoft FrontPage software to access and publish your website. This software can be purchased at most software retail stores. Follow the steps below to publish your website.

  1. Open Microsoft FrontPage
  2. Click the file menu option
  3. Click Open a web
  4. In the location Open the web folder on your Local hard drive that your website is stored
  5. Once you have the local folder open click the file menu option again
  6. Click publish web
  7. In the location box type the full URL http://www.domainname.com/
  8. Click the publish button
  9. You will be prompted to enter your username and password for your web space
  10. Once this is entered your website should begin to upload to the server
  11. Once complete you can view your website by going to http://www.domainname.com/ in the address bar of your web browser

Please remember that the Main Page (the page that should be displayed first) of your Web Page MUST be named "index.htm".

If your website is already uploaded to the server, and you wish to make changes to the site live without having to republish the entire site follow the steps below. These instructions will allow you to login to the FrontPage enabled server where you can edit pages, import files, remove files, and more working directly within your web space.

  1. Open Microsoft FrontPage
  2. Click the file menu option
  3. Click Open a web
  4. In the location box type the full URL http://www.domainname.com/
  5. You will be prompted for your username and password
  6. Once the correct username and password is entered you will be logged into your web space directly on the server
  7. You can now make any changes necessary to your web site

When all finished close the web by using the close web option in the file menu.
