Windows Live Mail 2011 Setup

Back to Email Client Setups

Open Windows Live Mail and select the Accounts tab.

Click the Email button

Enter in your Email address and password. Then type in a Display name for your sent messages. This can be anything you like. Type it in as you would like to appear. Check the box that says Manually configure server settings and click Next.


  • Server type should be set to POP (IMAP can also be used).
  • The Server address: for both the Incoming and the Outgoing should be
  • Authenticate using: should be Clear text.
  • The port number under Outgoing server information should be set to 587.
  • Requires authentication should be checked.
  • Your username should be entered into Logon user name:
  • Click Next


Click Finish and Windows Live Mail is now setup. You can start using your email account.
